Irina brings over 23 years of experience in insurance and in all forms of dispute resolution, as well as in corporate and commercial law. She also has extensive experience in healthcare & pharmaceutical, data protection, employment, and public procurement law.
Irina co-founded Stoeva Tchompalov & Znepolski in November 2017 after 13 years being a partner at Stoeva, Kuyumdjieva & Vitliemov law firm. Her previous professional experience comprises 4 years of work as a senior lawyer at one of the biggest law firms in Sofia, Bulgaria, and before that 6 years as an in-house lawyer at Bulstrad Insurance Company (currently Bulstrad Vienna Insurance Group).
Now Irina is passionate about building her new boutique law firm with a superb internal culture, which she regards as instrumental to the delivery of an outstanding service and to having lasting relationships with clients.
In her practice across both advisory and trial, Irina has appeared in all levels of Bulgarian courts and before a multitude of arbitration and regulatory panels, and has represented clients at all stages of litigation. She advises multinational and local insurers, insurance brokers, healthcare companies and other large corporations operating in different sectors, as well as small and medium businesses, and individuals.
According to leading directory Legal 500, for two years in succession (2016 and 2017) clients appreciate Irina’s “profound knowledge of the local and European regulations in the insurance litigation space”.
Irina contributed as a co-author of the Bulgarian chapters in the 2009 Getting the Deal Trough: Insurance & Reinsurance and in the 2015 Getting the Deal Trough: Insurance Litigation.
Irina holds an LL.M from University of Sofia, Faculty of Law (1994).
She is admitted to Sofia Bar and to practice in Bulgaria.
In addition to mother-tongue Bulgarian, Irina speaks English as well as having a basic knowledge of French and Russian.
